About Me

THE PATH I TREADED
My first encounter with mechanical field was at an early age, the urge to know and the need to understand the intricacies of this immensely captivating field proved to be the driving factors in my decision to choose Mechanical Engineering as my specialization.
In my childhood, I used to get fascinated by machines and their functions. The tricycle of mine, the bike owned by my father and the family car, the agricultural pump and motor used for lifting underground water from a well in my grandfathers farm are the machines that intrigued and thrilled at the age of 6. The industrial lathes and sizing machines in my uncle’s factory were another source of interest to me when I grew up. So, the affinity to machinery related field is germinated from observation and association.
My uncles and cousins are all graduates and post graduates in engineering. They initiated me to the field of engineering and helped me to understand the numerous technological innovations like cars, televisions, aircraft etc. Their use to humanity and the improved life-style it brought along with it were slowly understood by me as I grew up. It was taught in school that science manifested in all fields and there was constant replete of advancement in these fields. This made me realize the power of engineering science is so vast and can constantly be harnessed and innovated to be servile to mankind. This, along with the guidance from my parents, uncles and cousins developed the urge in me to take up engineering as my field of study.
My diploma study has provided me with a strong background in Tool making and an exposure to a wide range of disciplines in this field. I feel that the hours of hard work that I have put so far has only given me a brief glimpse of the vastness of Engineering. What I have seen has only aroused by curiosity and eagerness to explore the depths. I have been fascinated and overawed by the working of mechanical systems. The brain behind the miracles this has engendered in me a desire for advanced study in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
Now I am at the verge of completing my post graduation. As the years passed by, the field of engineering has along gone through constant transformation and change. I took up production engineering in my under graduate level as it was the fundamental course related to machines and manufacturing. The world of humanity needs goods, products and services, all of which needs machines for production/manufacturing, transformation and communication. Sophisticated goods are nowadays produced using high technical and advanced machinery. I realize the significance of this during my diploma course, and haven’t looked back since.

Educational Profile
I completed Schooling at St. Joseph Boys High School, Calicut. After which I did Pre-University education at St. Joseph College, Devagiri, Calicut. I earned Diploma in Tool & Die Making from N.T.T.F Bangalore which is ISO 9001 Training Institute, the course duration was 3+1 years, i.e. three years training within the institute and one year industrial training. I was placed at Wipro Fluid Power, which is an ISO & QS Certified Multinational Company. I worked there as designer for Hydraulic components. I resigned after completing one year of service and I joined Amrita Institute of Technology and Science, Coimbatore which is affiliated to ANNA University to take Engineering Degree (Mechanical) through lateral entry scheme (directly to second year of engineering, as I have completed diploma). Amrita Institute of Technology and Science is one of the top ranking engineering colleges in South India. After my bachelors degree, I had completed my masters degree (masters in Global Production Engineering) from Technical University Berlin, Germany under Siemens Scholarship. Presently working in research and development department (R&D) with Siemens Energy sector Berlin Germany.
